University of Michigan

About Us

We are a ministry to the campus of the University of Michigan that reaches out to the student body. We meet weekly for Bible study and fellowship. We are devoted to following Jesus Christ by reaching others with the Gospel, teaching them from God’s Word, and connecting them to other Christians and a church to serve in. CFC is an outreach ministry of Ann Arbor Baptist Church.

CFC is a group of students who love Jesus Christ and desire to serve Him. We take the challenge of the Bible seriously to make an impact in our world and try to live that out in our everyday lives. We believe meditation on God’s Word is key to the success of any Christian. At CFC we want to provide an opportunity for busy college students to “get away” and focus on God’s promises. Together, we’ll seek answer to life’s most important questions and explore a deeper understanding of the Bible together. We hope you’ll join us…we think it’ll be well worth your time.

In our meetings, we dig deep into the Bible and challenge ourselves to serve Him at all costs. Our weekly meetings are in a relaxed atmosphere that encourage discussion and questions. We participate in active outreach into our community and enjoy fun activities together throughout the year.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Meet the Team

Caleb Estell

Student President

I am a grad student in Mechanical Engineering. I discovered CFC in 2018 as a freshman after being invited by Simon and Mr. T at Festifall. CFC has a Christ and Bible-centered Bible study which is the most important consideration when choosing a Christian student organization to join.

Jordan Morris

Student Vice-President

Hello! I am currently a Master of Accounting student studying at the Ross School of Business. I attended the University of Michigan for my undergrad as well and studied Business with a minor in Moral and Political Philosophy. I will be returning to my hometown of Ludington, Michigan after graduation to take over ownership of a local business.

Drew Sikma

CFC Campus minister

I have had the privilege of serving students at the University of Michigan since 2018. I enjoy studying God’s Word to see how it speaks to the issues we face every day. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than helping students go deeper in their relationship with God!

Brandon Zeerip

CFC Campus Minister

As a University of Michigan undergraduate alumnus, CFC is truly an answer to prayer. Ever since trusting Christ as my Savior in graduate school, the Lord has given me a burden to be involved in campus ministry. My wife, Joanna, also has a heart for serving in CFC, and you'll sometimes see her and one of our three children at our bible studies as well!

Larry Thompson

Prayer & Care Coordinator
My wife, Rita, and I are both alumni of the University of Michigan. We have a heart to reach the campus for Christ. I coordinate the CFC Campus Parent program, in which we try to provide students with a home away from home.

Jason Maynard

Faculty Advisor
Jason Maynard began working at Michigan Medicine during his freshman year of college (1992). Following graduation he transitioned into a Registered Nurse position in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, where he now serves as the Educational Nurse Coordinator. Having come to know the Lord as his Savior at the beginning of his sophomore year, Jason is burdened for college students to receive Jesus as their Savior and to be discipled in the life-changing ministry of His Word. Jason and his wife Cindi have been blessed with two children, Colin (13) and Victoria (8).
